For your essay, you will write a five paragraph analysis of the role poverty plays in the text. The prompt is:
Manchild in the Promised land largely focuses on issues of poverty.
How has Sonny's social class and upbringing affected his life, particularly his education and involvement with legal troubles?
How did his social class impact how he sees the world?
The first step in writing your essay will be to formulate your thesis. To do this, please complete the worksheet on thesis writing.

Take a screen shot of your registration confirmation.
Attend the panel at the date and time listed.
Take notes as you attend the panel.
Your submission should have:
The title/name of the panel.
The presenter's name.
Submit a copy of your notes along with a 2 paragraph explanation of what you learned, found important, questions you still have, etc.
I will be counting each one you submit (maximum of 3) as 10 points or 100% of a project grade. However, in order to earn this extra credit your submission needs to follow the directions completely. Any missing components will lead to you not getting credit. Your paragraphs must be proofread and edited, no spelling or grammar mistakes, and MLA format.
