Good afternoon Mr.Fiorletta and Ms.John,

For this week Anthony should complete the following:


The Handmaid's Tale
Before reading watch the documentary about the author.
Read Chapters 1-5
For each chapter complete a journal entry. 
Journal entries should be at least 2-3 paragraphs in length, in MLA style, and properly proofread. 
They may contain responses or notes on any of the following:
1. Setting
2. First Person Narrative.
3. Imagery.
4. Emotive Language.
5. Information about the Social Hierarchy.
6. Information about the past.
7. Evidence of Control.
8. Information about the handmaids
9.Key characters and central events
10.Comment on what Atwood is trying to show the reader
11.Add a key quotation for each section.
12.Add the main types of imagery you find in that chapter and what themes appear.
