Study Skills Mr. Geist 10/28
Who am I?
I am your constant companion.
I am your greatest helper or heaviest burden.
I will push you onward or drag you down to failure.
I am completely at your command.
Show me exactly how you want something done,
and after a few lessons, I will do it automatically.
Those who are great, I have made great.
Those who are failures, I have made failures.
You may run me for a profit or run me for ruin -
It makes no difference to me.
Take me, train me, be firm with me, and
I will place the world at your feet.
Be easy with me and
I will destroy you.
Who am I?
A habit is the intersection of knowledge, skill and desire.
Knowledge = what to
Skill = how to
Desire = want to
Creating a habit requires work in all three dimensions.
*it is sometimes a painful process.
Dependence = you take care of me.
Independence = I can do it.
-I am responsible, self-reliant and I can choose.
Interdependence = We can do it.
-we can cooperate, and combine talents and abilities to create
something greater together.
*Interdependence is far more mature, and advance over
Independence.
